| Hello!
First off, Arbor Pointe has been reborn as Abbey Woods, under new management. The management has been great since day one, when I moved-in in May 06. The overall feel of the complex is nice, quiet at the end of Medical Drive, and they've spent a lot of effort renovating. The complex is well thought out and built, back in day when developers spent good money on good materials, unlike the thin shells of most new buildings. Remodeled units are very nice for the price, and I'm very happy living there. My neighbors are quiet, mostly studious students, working hard on their medical degrees are young couples starting out together.
Perhaps most of the bad experiences are with older tenants, but they've been moving out steadily. Rent has increased significantly from what the old tenants are used to, so a lot can't afford them and are moving out. The entry of new, young professionals, medical students, and some retirees are moving in and has created a very nice atmosphere.
Maintenance is top notch - very responsive and thorough.
Security is just fine - yes, there isn't a gate, but when you look at most complexes, their gates are either malfunctioning or opened anyway. What good is that? Here, you feel safe without the need for such artificial security.
Parking is fine, although more covered parking would be nice. But there are enough mature trees to shade your cars.
The pools are very well kept, clean and well designed. The gym is adequate for most people and the clubroom is nice.
Overall, it's a good bet in the Medical Center area. Not brand new, but it's a trusty standby.
