Apartment Review for Blue Swan Apartments - San Antonio, TX

Blue Swan is in an area that's convenient to a lot of things, but it has become increasingly unsafe. There were two shootings in the past two years -- one on the corner of Parliament and Patricia and one at the Mark across the street. Drugs and crime are all over the place. As for the management of BS (as I like to call it), Jennifer used to be nice but she seems to dislike me now and doesn't follow through with maint. requests. Misty reads personal emails on her Yahoo account during her work hours and isn't especially friendly. I'm not sure I have ever seen her smile. She mostly acts like you're a nuisance. The maint. manager Jay seems behind on things as well. You have to really put a fire under his behind to get him to help you. The place used to be managed by Pinnacle but now Cottonwood bought it as well as Copperfield Apts. Nothing has improved. One pool always seems dirty and the last time I checked, one of the hot tubs was not working and looked green. The pool furniture is sparse and falling apart (I think tenants are stealing it). The laundry room doesn't have enough dryers (at least in one of them) and the appliances are old. The stoves are all old. There's a clubhouse but they don't tell you about it and you have to pay to use it, anyway. Shutters are falling off the buildings and the walls are made of cardboard. One of the biggest problems BS has is their doors. They're just ratty and the frames are falling apart. They have taken out the locks and put them back in in different places. Check out the frames of the doors because the wood just looks like it's going to give. The doors also sometimes will lock you out or lock you in. I've had to remove a doorknob once when my doorlock refused to work one day. I think the main problem with BS is that the buildings themselves have seen shoddy workmanship. Next I say the area has gone downhill, and then I say the managers aren't friendly and don't seem to care when you have a concern or need something fixed. Also I see a lot of doggy poo around even though to their credit BS did install some of those doggy poo bags for people to use. There are also a lot of dogs off their leashes which is dangerous to others especially children and pets. It's also illegal to let your dog out without a leash in san antonio. BS again doesn't care. They also have a history of allegedly messing with people's leases so that you ask for a 6 month then they prepare you a 12 or you want a 12 and they give you a 13 or 14. CHECK YOUR LEASE DATES AND TERMS BEFORE SIGNING!!!!
