This letter I wrote to corporate: I am writing to you regarding issues I have experienced with Colonnade Apartments at 9898 Colonnade Blvd apt 15207, San Antonio, Texas, 78250. I have been a resident there for a year from August 3rd 2008 to august 3rd 2009. During my residency at that apartment I have experienced many disappointments at management-resident relationship. I had few apartment emergency situations that have been handled poorly, for example in February 2009 my commode tank water level adjuster in the restroom broke and was pouring water non-stop at whole speed. I have stopped by office and notified them about the situation. Five days later I called to REMIND them about it, and they had no records of me asking them to fix it. Another situation: when they have fixed the gates and told all residents to get the remote gate keys at the office. I am Managing Retail store and retail hours don’t work well with apartment office hours. I come home one day and gates are closed and I was standing out there for 2 hours, until I followed a neighbor car. Emergency line provided by apartment has been going straight to voicemail. When I came to the office to get those remote gate keys, I was asked to pay 20 dollars deposit for them, which was supposed to be free by contract. When I questioned the fee, I was told that my contract is general rules, and I should pay the refundable deposit of $20. When I asked to put my phone number to gate system so my friends could enter the gate by dialing it from the gate, I was told by management that my phone number is not a local number and that they would not do it. So all that time I lived there and every time my friends would come over I had to walk there with my gate key to open the gates. Many little issues I had with staff of that apartment location that would take hours for me to write. But here is the final one. When I signed contract I gave $200 non-refundable deposit, and $150 refundable. I abided all the rules of that community, hired a cleaning crew to clean my apartment upon move out, and did a final walk through. Everything was good. I was expecting my 150 back. They told me I would get them in 30 days. I got it, but only $25.96, check number 2149, dated 8/26/2009. When I called and questioned the amount, Lady told me that they took out water bill, which was around $20, and hmmm. interesting, , I quote” you moved out early, before your contract ended- that’s why”. I talked to her for a while, going over dates of contact and so on, she finally said she is going research it and call me back. I called twice, left a message for a manager to call me back. Never got an answer or call back. I do not want to have an argument or have any kind of issue with them; I just want my money back. Could you please help me to get the difference they owe me as soon as possible? |
