Apartment Review for Kenton Apartment Homes - San Antonio, TX

When I first came here, the management was very nice, and accomodating. I had to pick out a plan online and over the phone so I did not know what it would really look like when I got here. I was pleasantly surprised. At first it looks clean, and its definately roomy. The plan itself is great. As we got settled in, I noticed, cracks in the walls and tiles, and that doors didn't shut or lock easy. The outside needed paint. But all of this was fine. I put in my work orders and they came in good time, the first time. As things started to show themselves they have yet to really be fixed. I still have work orders in from May and its August now. Their pest control needs new chemicals we actually had to go and use our own since theirs only works for a short time. The play area (I have a 16month old) is not good for actual playing, nor is it used for that. The older children *hang out* there. There are glass shards everywhere a rusty pipe sticking straight out of the ground and swings have been stolen. The sand pit (volley ball court couldnt be used for a thing with all the weeds, and the tennis court looks like it hasnt been updated since the 90's. The pools are fun, if they arent out of order(which isnt all the time anymore) The lawn care people come on tuesdays (early early, right in front of my apt) and honestly i dont see them doing a whole lot besides laying on the ground or walking around blowing leaves, and yet when they leave, my sidewalk has sticks and leaves everywhere. The new management is...less than accomodating. I understand they are new, but I get the vibe that they just really don't want you there unless you are handing over money. Their words are nice, their tones...are demeaning. I feel like they don't care if you are here or not. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the main gate, to let you in, is ALWAYS, yes always open. Its broken, I have never used a code to get in. I don't see our courtesy officer anymore either. The place was better when the management was nicer, i guess it was tolerable then. Now its mostly a nuisance and I am looking forward to the military moving us somewhere else. They rent for these spots are too high for the service you get.
