Apartment Review for La Calera - San Antonio, TX

We lived here for 7 years and even had our rent reduced for being such reliable tenants. About a year and a half ago, we had a new neighbor who was constantly fighting. The door was being kicked in, we were awoken several times at 3 AM by violent fighting. The police came to the complex an excess of 42 times in one year. We repeatedly reported this concern to the local management. Each time we were told they could not do anything about it, that the neighbor was "trying so hard to be good." The management offered her to move to another part of the complex so that we would stop complaining, but she declined. After a year of trying to deal with this on the local level, we called the management company in Dallas and were assured that this would be taken care of. Two weeks later we received a notice that our lease would not be renewed. After 7 years of being great tenants, they told us they did not have to give us a reason and they just decided they did not want us to live there anymore. The front office has always been passive in responding to concerns. In the past we had notified them that one tenant had several old cars parked in the main parking lot of the complex and was blocking us in with his trailer, til this day one of those old cadillacs with expired tags is still parked there and the assistant manager parks next to it daily. The maintenance has always been reliable and quick, however the office management staff resents being notified of concerns. In fact, when I asked the office staff for the name and contact number of the management copy, she denied me the information.
