Apartment Review for Shallow Creek Apartments - San Antonio, TX

I had 2 leases, 12 mo and 9 mo. Obviously I was satisfied enough to stay for a while. The problems with the complex are as follows: Parking can get a little tricky, especially when the apartments are full. The gates are hit or miss and mostly miss. The exit gate has not been closed now for 3 months. No idea when this will be fixed or even if. The complex is currently under "new management" formerly was AIMCO and the new management has yet to fix the gate, although some other repairs are evident. The plumbing in the complex is troublesome and water has been off more than 5 times in my stay. They do get the problems with the water resolved timely however. One other minor problem is sometimes the trash is overfilled to the street, but this is rare enough. The biggest problem with the complex is the noise from upstairs. I had to relocate to a 3rd story apartment for this reason only 2 months into my first lease. The boards move around a lot just from a person walking. Very quiet on the top floors though. Overall this is not a bad complex for the money and for the proximity to work. I might recommend the place to someone as an under 500$ complex.
