AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Review Date: 11/28/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous
Far and away worst place I have ever ever lived. Everyday here was horrible; starting from the day I arrived to sign the lease (it was too late at that point to back out.) Me and a friend each had to spend 3 months in san anton from houston, so we split the lease halfway. I took over at the last 3. I spoke to them around 5-6 times before arriving had the cost of everything I needed and the clearance to move forward. I arrive checks in hand ready to sign, with a van outside stuffed with my belongings and 9 lb dog. Sit down to sign, turns out that they cant find the paper they had on the telephone that allows me access; "sorry nothing we can do". Might be in hotel that night, but hey wait they find it 20 minutes later. Ok. "So do you have the animal deposit check and application fee?" (Rent already paid for the month). Yes here you go. "Oh I'm sorry did they not tell you (on the 5 previous conversations precisely involving this very matter) that there is a $200 pet processing fee, a $300 pet deposit ($200 nonrefundable), a %2 rent monthly pet owners fee and $5 required tag?" NO!! She/they told me there was a $300 pet deposit fee!! Absolute BS! She then actually said since she had already seen the dog with me (and approved him as acceptable) that she could not allow me to move in until I wrote the check. This presents a problem because I use electronic checking, I have to mail the 2 checks a year I write that arrive in one business day. This was not acceptable. I had to have my girlfriend write a check for more than $300 more of what the check I had arrived with. That was day 1......Day 2 I had to purchase my own mailbox key from them only for $10. Day 3 the neighbors music is vibrating both my floor and dishes. His friends rap at the base of my stairs every evening. He fights with his girlfriend in the breezeway to create an echo effect for the entire building. We all want to hear him saying "F you B" to her as she screams about his money and cheating. This is happens every sunday and thursday, and the occasional monday. I put up with that for 2 months no complaints. Mostly out of fear of the people I would be complaining. He mysteriously never left his house, but had the most beautiful electronic equipment through the window and $40,000 car. Maybe it was some inheritance? (I shouldn't be so crass, but...) So I finally with 1 month left on my lease had enough, I could barely watch the tv let alone do any studying. I call "security" (who didn't prevent 8 house break ins and 6-7 car break ins that happened within 3 months). He arrives downstairs...and.....they're friends! Wonderful! So nothing is resolved and now my neighbor probably is only going to get worse? He did. So from that point on I showered and slept with plugs. Everything else I went to a friends and brought the dog. Time to leave!! Im going to get this place as sterile and operating room. Wasn't that hard after all I wasn't really there. Plus I read online that this complex charges for a dirty sidewalk in front of your door. Walk through with them to "Lessen" the lies they make up. She pulled the stove away from the wall and found crumbs..." a couple of hairs on fridge ledge"....the tub needed resurfacing....and I didn't tell her the carpet had been shampooed the day before. She frowned after walking on it. Told me once its cleaned no shoes are to be allowed. She hopes that it doesn't have to be cleaned again, if so she will have to void the initial cleaning. Yes she actually said that. The carpet guy asked me why I was having it cleaned on arrival. There was absolutely nothing on it. I told him they require it (some places do this, thats fine). However I was educated on arrival that they throw it out once a year regardless of its state. You must have it cleaned even if they will be discarding it the minute you leave. What a great use of resources! It was new when we moved in and covered in rugs on every square inch from day one. So it had never actually saw the elements until it was cleaned. She said it didn't look clean. Shocking because they only thing to have touched it so far was a vacuum and her foot. She has a frowned at me like a puppy crapping the floor. I just grimace knowing this is all hopeless...they do not give back deposits. There will probably be a pet deprocessing fee when I leave. Oh yeah last day there I didn't turn back in the parking sticker they never gave me. She showed me at the bottom of the lease where I signed for it. Oh I guess it was within the lease and I didn't realize it. Haven't seen very many reusable parking STICKERS either. Miraculous. $10 more who cares at this point. So if you have any other questions feel free to email me at drew1214@gmail.com And if you own a pet the cost is $200 pet processing fee $200 NON-refundable deposit $100 "possibly" refundable deposit %2 of your rent MONTHLY pet owning fee and $5 for a complex only dog-tag with an arbitrary number. They require their tag because they dont want to turn him into the spca. Your tag with your name and number apparently would be ineffectual. I still haven't figured out the difference between non-refundable deposits, pet processing fees and pet owning fee's?? This place needs to be hit by a natural disaster, or at lease the management office. I only with harm to them and possibly my downstairs neighbor :) |
