Apartment Review for Terrace At River Oaks - San Antonio, TX

So, when I considered moving here, I checked out the ratings and they were majorally bad, but I had hope and decided that people were just complaining. I applied and had a unit reserved. I asked to look at it and said I wanted the wallpaper removed and the back porch fixed. There was also a stale smoke smell. I was told a crew would have that all taken care of before move-in. The day before move-in day, I checked it out and nothing had been done in the 3 weeks they had to work on it. I was assured by the manager that the wallpaper, paint and carpet would be taken care of that day and I'd move in without problems. In addition, nobody told me key pick-up time was 4:30 pm. I rented a Uhaul and planned for a morning move-in. Manager apologized and said she'd comp me for the uhaul fee and I could move in at 1. I spent the next day loading the truck and when I went to check out the apt before signing, there was one guy there (what happened to the crew???) and he had just finished taking off the wallpaper. Needless to say, I decided against signing, but now I have to hustle and find a place before my lease ends in a week, and i had to pay for a storage unit to hold everything i put in the uhaul. If they're this bad before even getting someone to sign a lease, I can only imagine how bad it is when you're under contract and need something done. I would advise others to avoid the headache and financial loss.
