Apartment Review
the management does not care
Review Date: 1/17/2007

The property management has apparently been advised of the weakening conditions of the LUXURY high rise apartment building, whether it has been via their little surveys or verbally. We experience numerous days during the month when there is NO running water in the building. Continuously, we are deal with false alarms regarding security within the building (fire or otherwise). The property offers emergency services for repairs or unbearable conditions. Even when water is backing up and can not be contained, operator advise that this is not an emregency, repair associates will be contacted the next day. The most important issue is the comfort or quality of life, we were advised today, one of the coldest days of this winter season, that the heaters were not working properly, but would be repaired and working properly. At 4:00 pm on Wednesday January 17, 2007 (the second day of the ARTIC BLAST OF 2007) a staff member advised me that the heating had been repaired and the heating should be operating fine within two to three hours. Six hours later the thermostat in our apartment read 43 degrees. I contacted the emergency services at 7:00 pm to advise them that the heating still did not appear to be working, the associate I spoke with advised me that it may take as long as 8:00 pm for the boilers to begin heating. I understand in most water systems, the hydralics of heating and cooling through water ductation, that a few hours may be required to generate the correct energy needed to be condusive to heating and cooling needs. Shortly after 9:00 PM I contacted the answering service for the property, not in these exact word, but impied, both ladys I spoke with, a general operator, and a manager named Sue, essential told me that it was not important whether or not we were cold or how we felt that the management felt they had repaired the heating system and we should deal with it. I asked if there was an emergency number that could be contacted, Sue advised me that the management of the property did not feel that it was important as to how the tentant of this property became cold or sick because of the substandard living conditions that no emergency contact should be made because of the abnormal heating conditions and the system had been repaired and no additional considerations should be made. I do hope that for the ones that end up sick or in th hosiptal because of the extremely cold temperatures the management is as understanding when these tentants are unable to make the monthly rental installments. This type conditions should not be exceptable for section 8 housing or when you are spending between $1100 TO $2000 a month for luxury high rise living. If you want a property that does not care about the tenants this would be a great place to live.
