Our family recently relocated from Chicago to San Antonio. We weren't given the opportunity to look for a house/apartment before our move so we were VERY leery about renting at The View sight unseen. However, we are quite pleased with this place although we haven't lived in an apartment community since my husband and I married almost 18 years ago. It's nice to have a "homey" apartment with a decent sized kitchen, crown molding and walls that aren't painted stark white (I'd say they're ecru). The walk-in closets are GREAT! We've only had to call maintenance twice; once to have the refrigerator door replaced and the water heater needed the heating element changed out. We don't bother calling maintenance for burned out bulbs or dead batteries in the smoke alarms. It's a no-brainer to have those things on hand. We have WONDERFUL neighbors that we'll be sad to lose when our lease is up next year, but we need to be in a house(we're leasing the 3 bedroom unit @ 1500 sq.ft.) and won't be renewing our lease for that reason only. We have no problems with parking since we have a 2 car garage, but we see that there are always at least 4-5 spaces that are open by our building. The worst complaint that I have is the traffic at Hwy 281 & Evans. It truly is awful. Thankfully, there's a new shopping center at Stone Oak & Hwy 281 with a Super Target and various other stores so that I don't have to turn left on 281 and sit through several light changes unless I absolutely have to head south. While I wouldn't exactly call this a complaint, I think The View would benefit greatly if they'd install a playground and perhaps a small area for skateboarders. There are a number of children here, mine included, that could certainly gain from having a place to burn off all their excess energy. We would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a quiet, well-maintained place to live.
