Apartment Review for Verde Braun Station - San Antonio, TX

Do you like the feeling of crickets crawling on your face while you sleep? Do you crave the excitement of crickets dropping into your food as you eat or onto your lap while you watch television? Then look no further, you've found Verde Braun Station and you are in for a treat. Do you enjoy games? A few local favorites include chasing live crickets with a vacuum cleaner, trying to guess how many crickets are in your living room while you sleep based on the chirping, or seeing just how huge a mountain of dead crickets have accumulated under your couch THIS week. The games don't stop with crickets though! On at least 5 occasions that I can recall I had massive cockroaches (waterbugs?) scurry out of the drain WHILE I WAS SHOWERING. Talk about excitement! Or maybe fast-movers aren't your thing? You may be lucky enough to see a line of ants marching right under your front door! Seriously though... The management is completely unhelpful and claims it to be a normal situation. I'd say 20-30 live cricket "drops" per day is a lot of things, but not normal. I say drops because the way they get in is through the air conditioning vents, so they literally fall on you sometimes. They WILL get in your bed and crawl on you while you sleep, I'm not joking even a little bit. Part of the reason I got a cat while I was there was to kill the little suckers so that they'd be easier to clean up. Plan on spending at least half an hour per day cleaning up crickets and be sure to change out your vacuum bag regularly... decaying crickets STINK! If you must live here I'd recommend some kind of mesh bag to put over the AC vents to catch and collect them before they can run loose in your house and die under your refrigerator and stove. Verde Braun Station's website claims they are "luxury apartments". For the amount of money they charge, you could do a lot better and not have to deal with hundreds of bugs.
