"You Get What You Pay For"
Review Date: 5/16/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
First, let me be clear, I just completed my lease and was never late one day. The price of these apartments is $499 and up and on the outside of the apartments, at least where they lead you to, look pretty nice. But the management team here is so rude and lie to their tenants. I lived there a little over a year and these are the issues we had. The washrooms for your clothes had only cold water. They said for a year that they couldn't get a water heater. They have a work-out center, but every piece of equipment was broken for a year and they just recently got it operable. They have buildings with actual large holes in the exterior where people reside that have insulation coming out of it. There are a couple of buildings with poles holding up second floor patios. They should have been cited for the swimming pool many times last year and the year before as even the management called it "the swamp" because of the severe amount of algae growing in it leaving it un-usable during the summer months for the tenants. I lived next to the pool and the smell was horrible. This was months like this. It took until it got fairly green until they closed it down, letting children use the pool because kids don't care what color the pool is. They just want to have fun . On two occasions I made requests and they told me "you pay such a low rent here, this is what comes with paying low rent" which one of the requests was to repair the work-out center. The management staff is so rude. I wanted to ask one of them a question and they wouldn't stop to answer. They said, "stay right there, I'll be back in 5 minutes." What took priority over me was to take balloons down from the fence at the front of the property 40 minutes prior to closing. They will walk right by you and not even acknowledge your presence with a nod, a hello or anything unless you say something first. It is supposed to be a dog friendly complex, but the Asst. Mgr. is so scared of dogs she freezes in front of them and told me that they should have made a size limit because she was so scared of my boxer. She has had so many complaints to the Manager about her bitter attitude toward the tenants, but the answer you get is, "she's just that way to everyone, don't take it personally." When I told the manager it was poor customer service she just ignored me. Someone crashed into the fence in front of my building and they left it as is for 2 months. They didin't clean up any of the debris, only bent back the fence. There is one tenant who is permitted to break every rule in the place. She lets her dog run around the fenced area of the pool to go to the bathroom so she doesn't have to walk it. She never picks up the poo and has so many plants and dog toys at her apartment they spill over to the yard, which we all would be fined for, but she gets away with. Her dog bites other dogs. This place is hands down the worst run place I've ever been to. If you ever see an apartment complex run by Westdale Management, go the other way. I have never in my life made a complaint like this, but I was in retail for 23 years and if I ran things the was this group runs things, I would never have made it that long in the business. Customer service is number one no matter where you live. Especially in this economy! |
